This Week in Magic
Tom is pumped to have Conley Woods back from Rome and he gives us the entire run down of Worlds including his standard deck, extended deck conundrums, the “behind the scenes” info on the disqualifications, overall disappointment in the food and more! Check out the links for the Vieques Island bioluminescent bay and a bit more info on Initial Rock. Here is a link to the Crossroad Hobbies store I visited in Dickinson, ND.

Here is an example of some manly mutton chops not too disimilar from Conley’s:

What Have We Been Playing?
Tom is excited to have his Experiment Kraj EDH deck finished! Conley is already looking ahead to States and Extended for GP Oakland.

Listener Emails
Tons of great emails and already a few submissions for the create the missing Morphling contest. :^)

MTGCast News
Since Tom had just gotten back from North Dakota (the coolest of all states), he will have the winner of the Video idea contest next week.

To make up for the delay and to celebrate Conley’s money-making at Worlds 2009, we are having another Zendikar booster box giveaway!
– Prizes: 12 prize packs of 3 Zendikar boosters
– Contest: Create one of the missing creatures in the “Morphling” cycle (i.e. Morphling, Torchling, Thornling) and we are open to the black, white, artifact, Planeswalker, hybrid mana, gold (hopefully five color).
– Where to submit: In the comment section, or preferably over in the MTGCast forum in the thread for episode 183.
– Need help with software to create a card mock-up? Check out the thread in the MTGCast forums.

Wish I had been there to record. Wish I had not listened to the last 2 MIn of the show.

Tom you are such a rebel! You better go on the D/L with your shard of petrified wood before the authorites find out! Lol.

Conley what can I say… You are the balls!

As far as the last 2 minutes of the show goes… I’m doing my best to forget!

Tom’s creature type is definitely Human Outlaw Renegade.
Sorry Conley but no one’s manlier than the immortal djinn, let’s get real here.

The Immortal Djinn truly is über-manly, but if Conley decides to bring the mutton-chops back for real, he might have some competition.

Anyway, great episode, guys. Love the fact that Conley always brings so much content to the table.

Also, Tom – stop talking about restaurants and food all the time. People listen to this on their way home from work… you know, hungry and all. This isn’t helping.

And if Steve ever disses on Korean food again, I’m gonna write my first hatemail wearing chainmail!

I don’t know Omniszron… I wasn’t real hungry after Tom’s bathtub fecal matter discussion. lol

@Tangent: well, that was just the final two minutes. It made the hunger go away, though.

About 3 minutes from the end the guys were talking about a director I didn’t know so I turned it off… after reading comments I listened to the rest… I wish I hadn’t…

Oh no! I’m sorry. That wasn’t our intention. If anything we were warning people not to listen to it. I mentioned “2 girls 1 cup” on my show Mana Screwed but that didn’t mean I wanted people to go watch it. Quite the opposite. Stay away from that movie as well as the last 2 minutes of this podcast! Save your innocence and your soul! lol

Your show is fantastic! Between you guys and Limited Resources I’m totally set for the week. Keep the tangential comedy rolling! I usually resent it when podcasters wantonly waste my time but for some reason I adore your banter.

Regarding N. Dakota: For years I’ve sought to visit that frontier state because of the HBO series Deadwood. However, after Conley’s scathing and often humorous remarks about it I’ve been converted into a staunch N. Dakota hater. Thank you, Conley!

    F%^&K North Dakota!
    Sincerely,

    Blakesjourney,

You still have a chance! Deadwood is in South Dakota. Go get some sweet “Black Hills Gold” while you’re there.

An easy mnemonic device to set the two states apart I use is the phrase “There is nothing in North Dakota.” Therefore, If I’m interested in something, and its in a state with “Dakota” in its name, it must be South Dakota.

So you’re telling me there’s a chance?! AWWW YEAH! I’m getting the first flight to S. Dakota, driving a 4×4 to the ND border and pee-ing across.

God, the thornling art sucks. It’s like a stinking animated hill with a cute little grassy knoll on top. They completely stripped away the ‘twins’ theme that Post so artfully established.
